With the 2026 edition Topps is back in licensed American football, after having been without an NFL licence since the mid-2010s. The team logos and uniforms are therefore back on Topps' flagship set, now with Fanatics as the owner of the brand. The series was released on 21 August 2026 and follows the same structure Topps uses in its other flagship series, with a broad base set as the backbone and parallel versions and insert cards around it.

Flagship is Topps' core series – that is, the broad base edition that covers the league season by season rather than a narrow theme. In the 2026 football edition the rookie cards from this year's draft class sit side by side with established players, and this is where the base design for the season is set. The cards are in English and produced by Topps.
